Besiktas Workboats signed contract at Middle East Sea Trade for 17m Fast Pilot Boat.

Vessel will be operating for Saudi Aramco Oil terminal at Gizan, Saudi Arabia.

Propulsion  power will be provided by two 750hp  Volvo Penta D16 Main Engies.. Each engine will be coupled to Twindisc MGX5145A gearboxes, each driving four blade high speed propellers. . TwindiscMGX Quick Shit series gear box, No other marine transmission in the world shifts as fast and smooth as the Twin Disc QuickShift, yet it provides amazing slow speed control at one knot or less. This arrangement will give the vessel a maximum speed of 22 knots at loaded condition

Below main deck will be the accommodation, comprising four berth cabin, wc, shower and galley area including entertainment unit on the wall. Specially designed entertainment unit connected to surveillance system which will allow crew to follow up the operation of the vessel even from the galley area by surveillance system on the deck and other areas.

Besiktas Engineers will customize the vessel according to tough weather conditions of Saudi Arabia. Hull will be painted with special coatings and paint called Mascoat marine DTM. (thermal barrier coating)

There will be more challenge in wheelhouse to keep this area cool enough to operate the vessel in 50 degree Celsius due to surrounding of large windows . Special glasss will be used to lower the impact of the sun inside the wheelhouse area and also speacil sun screens will be fitted on all windows.

Due to important operation of the boat there is much more custom features will be added according to Saudi Aramco Regulations.

STFA has taken delivery of and will soon deploy the Ali Riza Uzuner, the first Besiktas Workboat TB1500 series Tugboat. The 12 tonne bollard pull tug will join the fleet of STFA at Morocco.

SPECIFICATIONS

• Hull : Configured as conventional twin-screw tug,This vessel is design for multipurpose operations including ship-assist/ harbour tug dutie, dredging aasist, crew transport etc. With a significantly low air draft and a shallow navigational draft there are few places inaccessible to these tugs. 1505 Series also designed for the maximum speed of 11.5knots.

STANDART EQUIPMENTS

1505 Series outfitted to high standards in a compact space for crew of up to 2 people. The lower accommodation deck consists of a combined mess and pantry, One double crew cabins with a shared en-suite. The wheelhouse is designed for maximum all-round visibility from the forward control station, with conventional helm controls.

PROPULSION *STANDARD

Standart Main propulsion comprises a pair of VOLVO Diesel engines each rated 368 kW at 1800 rpm, and each driving fixed pitched 1.1 m diameter propellers on conventional shaft lines. The vessels have wet exhausts in order to achieve the extremely low air draft.

DECK MACHINERY

The aft deck has a 20 tonne SWL tow hook, a 3 tonne capstan(OPTIONAL)and a telescopic deck crane with a 6.5m reach is optional. The bow of the vessel is fitted with push fenders for barge manoeuvring duties.

3 Orders to Our New Besiktas Workboats Division" Besiktas Workboats, which is a new division of Besiktas Shipyard, has received

3 orders for TB1505 design tugs from Turkish operator. Tugboats will assist the operations of marine constructions.

With an overall length of 15 m, a beam of 5.8 m and draft of 1.8 m, the twin screw 3 units of STFA tugboats will have a pair of VOLVO D13 main engines coupled to 1150 mm diameter fixed pitch propellers via ZF W350 gearboxes. The propellers will rotate within nozzles to achieve bollard pull of 13 tonnes. Manoeuvrability will be with two streamlined rudders per nozzles controlled by DATA DDS 1000 steering system.

One of 13 ton bollard pull 15 m tugs will be delivered from stocks of Besiktas Workboats Divisions within two months and will join the STFA fleet at Morocco. The other two vessels will be delivered on around end of July and will join STFA fleet at Kuwait.

Besiktas Workboats Division plans to be reputable workboat builder and in the first 3 years target is to build 10 to 15 boats per annum for customers all around the world.

In house 10 workshops are located on a total of 50.000 square meter land in Beşiktaş Shipyard. Inspecting the equipment which is under repair takes a few minutes, because everything is under one roof. These workshops are operated by yard technicians under control of project engineers
Extensive machinery equipment (like Borverk, lathe machines up to 12 meters, balancing equipment, electrical motor oven etc…) enables the yard to carry out most of the repairs without leaving premises.

Steel Workshops

Total 25.000 sqm. area with a capacity of 5 to 14 tons per day equipped with 3 CNC plasma cutting (t: 100 mm), bending and curving machinery.

Mechanical Workshops

There are 3 mechanical workshops with extensive equipment like Borverk, lathe machines up to 12 meters capacity and various types of tools; where boring, lapping, machining of parts, overhauling of equipment like main engine units, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tail shaft, propeller and hub can be carried out.

Outfitting Workshops

Various outfitting can be fabricated and be prepared for fitting on board. There are 2 workshops with extensive machineries for any size/type productions or modifications.

Pipe Workshop

Pipe workshop is total 1.500 square meter area for steel, stainless steel, copper and hydraulic pipes in two separated floors with extensive equipment.

Electrical Workshop

Equipped with an oven, balancing tools and related parts, carrying out overhauling, rewinding and balancing of electrical motors are efficient and economic.

Insulation Workshop

All kind of insulation works including galvanized plates, panels and ventilation trunks can be carried out in these workshops
